Integrated design, construction management, and HSE coordination

The project covered functional retrofit, structure and systems renovation, with special focus on active and passive security systems, on the entire compound of the Italian Embassy in Kabul, Afghanistan, which includes the Chief Ambassador’s living quarters, the diplomatic quarters, the security stations, the technological stations, a church and adjacent parsonage.
We expanded the capacity of the compound and created new living quarters for the military staff and for the visitors, and we enlarged the Ambassador’s mansion.
The peculiar geographical area and its socio-political context made many aspects of the project quite difficult including connections, materials supplies, skilled labor, and logistics of the staff on the assignment.
