Design and construction management

The Italian Embassy compound in Tirana is situated in the downtown area among the other diplomatic HQs.
It consists of several buildings of different historic and architectural value: the Chief Ambassador’s living quarters, the diplomatic HQ, and the consular offices. The buildings have been restored, renovated, and partially replaced over time in order to ensure the safety and functionality of the compound that was inaugurated in 1992.
The peculiar geographical area and its socio-political context made many aspects of the project quite difficult, particularly the procurement of materials supplies and skilled labor.
Consequently, the architecture of the compound is simple and minimalistic yet decorous.
